Prototype Drum Experiment

A few evenings’ work with some wood (pine), a plastic file folder (!!!), string and lots of little screws and I produced this:

It sounded okay but not tight enough.  And I killed my fingers attempting to tension the skins, and the string started pulling through the holes anyway.  So I decided to abandon the string idea and give this one to the kids…
